These are superb speakers for the money, quality is top notch and the sound improvement over the OEM paper cones is vast. The sensitivity of them is good and the standard HU has no problem driving them hard.

As a cost effective upgrade to my OEM ice system there is probably no better solution, except to replace the rears as well. The clarity is a vast improvement and although not exactly floor shaking, there is a lot more base on tap with no distortion.

Fitting is easy as they simply replace the front door mounted speakers, although you will need a VAG adapter for the wiring or in my case some extra wire and spades.

The set I had were the 5,1/4" in my, um, cough, saxo. They were really nicely built and sound quality was spot on. Crystal clear vocals, and the base was reasonable for a small speaker. Deffinately recommended if your after a cheap upgrade.

anybody know if these will fit the Octy1 without any trouble?

I got the Infinity Ref 6522si Fronts in mine now. Not sure how simular they are to mannyo's 652i's but they fit perfectly. They use the same screw's/screw holes, They dont require modding the door in the Mk1 Octavia at all. The only thing I did was cut off the OEM connectors and added spade connectors. Job done in 5 minutes max for bth speakers. Good sound from them, nice and clear. If you want Bass though get a sub!!! All in all im happy with them at
