Front reg plate sticks onto a black plastic surround, Can you remove this?, what's behind it?, just want to open up the front end slightly for little airflow but not alter front end too much.

Yeah it clips off, is awkward to remove really, might be worth googling pictures of it so you can see the clips yourself, must have about 20 all the way round making it abit of a bitch really!

That's right. Removing it will make no difference.

The plastic that's behind it can be cut away if your careful with a Stanley knife.
