Hi Everyone

Hi everyone, my name is Darren and i live on the Isle of Arran in the Clyde Firth.

I have a 54 plate Skoda Superb 1.9 Tdi Elegance. Its pretty well loaded and has been a faithful car for 9 years now. We have clocked up over 150,000 miles and its starting to look a bit sorry for itself but its been the most reliable car we have ever owned.

We bought it by sheer accident, our Saab was playing up and we decided to go shopping and spend our savings. We looked at a very nice volvo s70 and a merc c320. It was a coin toss between the two but the merc won. We went to the merc dealers but had a most unagreeable experience with the sales staff. Both my wife and i dont conform to "conventional" dress codes shall we say. The salesman had obviously made up his mind that we were wasting his time. We walked out after giving him a piece of our mind and decided to walk back to the volvo garage to do a deal there. On the way we passed the Skoda garage as they were putting a nearly new car onto the forecourt. My missus liked the colour and the shape and i liked the price! We decided to test drive that car after a brief look around it. The car felt planted like a prestige car and had a far better finish quality than the volvo. I was instantly taken by the power (chipped) and the handling. We bought it there and then. The sales staff were excellent and bent over backwards to make the transaction a pleasurable one.

When this car finally becomes too costly to repair then we will be heading off to the dealers to buy another one!

I'm so glad the sales staff at merc were up themselves and decided to annoy us that day. They did us a huuge favour.
