I wanted to add a DAB tuner to my ICE install, but didn't want a windscreen-mounted aerial, or a seperate DAB stalk. Blaupunkt (via BlueSpot.co.uk - http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock/dab_diplex.asp ) supply one of the very few replacements for the standard AM/FM aerial which also receives DAB signals. It's a tad longer, stands slightly more vertical on its base, and the mast unscrews for carwashes. But you have to look very hard to see the difference, so it doesn't draw attention to the fact that you have a DAB setup installed.

It has amplifiers in the base for all the bands it receives (including L-band DAB, which is available in Europe but not in the UK), so no seperate aerial amplifier is needed for aftermarket head units.

It fits the standard hole - accessed by removing the roof lining trim at the top of the tailgate opening - and has seperate leads for AM/FM and DAB. The aerial needs a 12V feed, which is already in place for the stock aerial. You will need to run the DAB lead to wherever you have installed the DAB tuner (not necessarily in the head unit).

My antenna feeds a Pioneer GEXP-700DAB tuner, and it connects correctly with the supplied lead and works really well, giving perfect reception all the way up the M6 from the Midlands to Scotland, with the exception of the steep valley just before Shap.

The downside is the cost:
