Front shocks oil leakage

Featured Replies

...noticed today while changing tyres.

Left/right front shocks look like this.

(No oil leakage at rear shocks.)

64.000 km on the clock, car is 13 months old.

I sent the pictures to my dealer and waiting for their reply.

Anobody else with the same issue..?

My god, no idea, better take a look!

That's a fair few miles/kms - I had a leaking shock absorber on my MkII at 30,000 miles and the response was 'yup, they do that' and it was checked under warranty with no issues.

Not noticed any oil leakage but I think mine must have been made without any oil if the harsh ride is anything to go by! Roll on next week or so and I get a set of Bilstein B4s fitted! I'm on 44k miles now so about 73k km and I noticed the ride got much worse in last few months so wonder if the OEM shocks are not going to last too well.

What are the roads like in Hungary, Aki?  I know you do a lot of Motorway miles but are there many potholes on rural or city roads that might be the cause?

Well that mileage isn't too bad.... And if Matt gives a good report I'll be happy to fit blisties after 35k miles.  The vrs could probably benefit from them too
