Hi all,

Anyone had a problem with a drivers side window that winds halfway up then stops and goes back down?

My Octavia has just started doing it and my Touran does it too - is this normal or is there a solution?

Could be, but it's still worth while trying the lubricate the channels before condemning the motor. It's free, and if it doesn;t solve the problem, there isn't anything lost.

Does the glass seem to go up and down very slowly?

@ Mike no the windows are not slow moving at all. I will try some gt85 in the runners, fingers crossed that does the trick!

This happened with my focus, it was a kink in the rear rubber trim and had to replace the frame of the window

I had a similar problem. Happened on both front windows at the same time. Glass went half way up then stopped and went down again.

Quite worrying in the rain & cold but a few tries and it cleared and not happened since so I suspect the 'safety feature' was the cause and a good clean of glass edges and seals may do the trick.
