Ady, any photo's? My last vrs was metallic black and was absolutely stunning when clean and in the sun!

That took some working out, there you go Jonboy, I don't know if I can be bothered to change tbh. Going in for a cam belt and pump next week.

ady

I would be very interested in the Kenwood.

Ady, this is a stunner. I much prefer blue in the pre facelift but definitely black in the facelift!

This is identical to my black vrs except I had my Neptune's refurbed in gunmetal grey and it had the all important dsg box.

I would whole heatedly recommend the dsg, I miss mine every day.

If you do decide to sell, someone here will get a real bargain.

Good luck with the sale!

Off topic a bit but do you have any pics of your black VRS with gunmetal alloys?

That's a nice spec. Not very common to have the auto dimming mirror, auto wipers and lights on the vRS models as it was optional.

I am biased but I would really recommend a DSG. Whether I'm sat in some stop start traffic somewhere or effortlessly accelerating onto a motorway I just love it and often think how awful it would be to have a manual.

Obviously there are some drawbacks in the form of slightly higher fuel consumption, higher tax (the DSG normally bumps it up by £50 a year) and increased servicing costs (DSG oil and filter change every 40k miles) but for me it's worth it!

Due to the lack of availability of reasonably priced DSG CR Octavia's I think it will have to wait a year or so. A dealer swap will cost me about £2500 (presuming mine is £8K trade and similar year/mileage cars are £10.7K).

Cam belt/pump being done tomorrow for £369

Crikey, that's cheap!  I got mine done at the weekend for £425, down from the fixed price servicing cost of £459, and thought i'd done well to get them down to that price, but you've gone and burst my balloon!
