Re OEM Spark Plugs for the 1.4 TSI 132kw Twincharger.

that price of £15.10 per plug from a Skoda Dealership sounds like a rip off unless these are very special Plugs.

Please ask what they are,

parts Number, exact type they are selling.   Maybe they have an Updated Plug that costs more.

(price the plugs at their parts desk if you just were to buy them as a customer)

If they were going to use DENSO Plugs,

the price of these retail are £13.40 plus VAT = £16.08, for the *SKJ20CRA8*

(not the VK20)

I spoke parts team over the phone. All they said was they are Ngk N63 that's all they knew. Not very helpful I know. Will ring VW today and get a price from them.

NGK 63 - Lambda Sensor.

EDIT.

Champion N63  Spark Plugs.

Plugs as were , so many using different in the past.

NGK PZFR6R8EG

O3c905601A Spark Plug Long Life as were used.

They are the professionals, they will know what is right, after all who has ever heard of a Skoda Dealership

fitting the wrong plugs.

Haha yea bet that's never happened before ever :-)

Another quick questioN sorry. Spoken with tyre place and they've asked if tyre pressure monitor is on wheel or connected to abs? I believe the first is going to be very pricey job..

Normal wheel and tyre. tpms reading from abs system.

Thanks George. That's a relief. 10 quid for new valve and balance. My own stupid fault for putting metal caps on :-(

Oh dear :(

I've got the same issue with my service this year as its it 3rd one it should only be a minor one, i've tried to have a look at getting the spark plugs off to check ( cars only on 12k but wanted to check them) but theres loads of junk in the way i can't be bothered to try and remove and break (I have big hands and small things break easily) the bits in the way (whose idea was it to make getting to a spark plug so hard anyways) so ill be asking for mine to be changed this year as i have no idea how the car was ran previously, so nice to see some idea of cost before i go shopping around!

I would also point out that eurocarparts has some cracking offers on oil at the moment, i got 5L of Shell ultra helix oil 5w40 for less than 24 quid equating to 4.75 a litre,  I don't understand how a dealer can cost nearly 3 times this!

Bargain with the oil mate. I thought I'd give the vw quantum platinum 5w40 ago this time and see how much of the stuff she drinks if any. Previous was castrol Edge. Been told it's pretty much same stuff. Who knoW's!

Did you by any chance damage your interior light recently? Guy at autosales said a guy with silver vrs estate came in for a replacement!

lol yeah that was me!

I was fitting the handsfree kit with my new headunit and broke it, was worth it as i managed to get the arm rest for the front seats for a 100 quid tho!

Im now looking around at how i get to my plugs, might have a go this weekend at getting them out to check.

Worked out mines drank about half a litre to 1200 miles or so, so i was thinking if i topped up with something slightly thicker it might reduce or stop it all together.

*3rd year Minor Service if it is still around 30,000 miles or less.*

5w 40 VW 502 00

Fully Synthetic is fine if you are servicing within 10,000 miles.

Oil filter,  VW,s latest silver one maybe.

03C 115 561H

New Sump Plug.

Maybe change the Air Filter if it has not been done.

Replace Spark Plugs if not done,

(do not leave another year.)

Brake Fluid change at 3 years if not already done.

Anything or everything you fancy.

DSG Service Campaign Field Action if required and you want Skoda to pay for it.

Knew it must have been you haha. I desperately need an armrest. 100 was discounted I imagine? Usually around the 140 mark aren't they?

Think with armrest and satnav unit will improve the interior greatly! Both of these are top of my list now. After the bloody spark plugs that is...

Yeah there 140 they had one out the back that i guess they'd had for nearly 2 years looking at the manufacturing date and the state of the box so they wanted shot of it!  Sat nav wise i got the RNS 315 which looks loads better than the swing radio :)

I'm wondering if to just go buy some new plugs and try and fit them myself or wait for the service in july then get the dealer to do it.

Haha fair play. Good deal. Have you fit it yourself? Yea I've been looking at 315's on ebay. 46 quid has just been taken out of the kitty tonight though on battlefield hardline!
