The splines on the gearbox tower (turret? linkage? not sure of it's proper name) of the Mrs' 6Y 1.9sdi are worn, resulting in quite a lot of play in it. It's the arm itself that's worn, not the selector shaft.

 

I've made it better with some ptfe tape, and adjusted the cables properly, but it's probably only a matter of time before it goes back to the way it was.

 

Does anyone know where I could get a replacement, or have the part number for it? Is the same one used on another marque? Happy to scour the breakers for one

Try Skoda parts dept for whats linkages you require or at least the parts numbers?
