Just Saying Hi

Featured Replies

I just picked up a new car, after a month or 2 of searching.

Had to replace an aging Mondeo ST 2.2 TDCI. I rack up around 30k mikes a year with work and need an efficient swift motor to get me back and forth accross the Pennines every day. Having owned a Golf mkIV 130 pd GT TDI before, I felt it a good platform to stick with and started hunting for the right car....

I picked up a pre FL, 07 Red Octavia MkII, with a few goodies over standard. Currently I am well happy with it, but she needs a few repairs body wise... Ill share some pics when this torrid weather packs up and I have had chance to give it a bit of a polish.

Cheers and thanks

Jim aka Widdowmaker.

Ah that'll be the m62 trip I suppose?

30 minutes on a good day, three hours on a bad one...

Are you hitting the restrictions at the bottom (m60)?

Hi MIke - I try to avoid it, by coming off at Shaw and cutting through Rochdale. I actually live in Accrington, so I am not forced to use the M62 the whole way. I cant believe we are going to facing those road works for another 5 years while thy establish a "managed" motorway......

Because I work in Barnsley, I often use Woodhead or a number of cross country routes, but thats whats done the mondeo in, the potholes and state of the roads. But I am promising this car, I wont subject it to that torment.....

Not the best pics, but she scrubs up a treat... poor boys black hole plus Autoglym wax does the job it seems. She will need a machine polish once the parking dings are removed.
