Hey I have a 07 Octy vRS and I purposely set the alarm off early by having the window down, doors locked and waving my hand inside.

Unfortunately the alarm noise level wasn't very loud at all. My question is are they all rather quiet or am I due to a new alarm siren?

If it's the latter where is the siren located and where is the best place to get one.

Also the alarm chirp isn't very loud when locking or unlocking the car either.

Can volume be adjusted via VCDS?

You change the country for the alarm siren. There's about 4 choices, not sure what the difference is as I have never changed it.

Could be the battery is on the way out in the siren.

The battery is integral to the siren, so you need to replace the whole unit.

You can change the battery but it is a bit of a DIY job there is a a few guides if u use the search box, I couldn't be bothered and just let mine die

I don't think there is anything wrong with my alarm siren though I'm not sure. I just don't think its that loud and if it were to go off in the middle of the night I doubt I'd wake up too it.

Might look at aftermarket alarm sirens.
