air bag light on after new steering rack

Featured Replies

On Monday my car decided to pop the steering rack, so today I took the day off and took her to the garage. All was good till I picked the car up when I spotted the air bag light on, When I got home I plugged it on to vag com and got this message but i don't know what it is or could be. I tryed to clear the fault but but it came back.

01217- side airbag igniter. driver side (N199)

32-00 0 resistence to high

could anyone shed some light on the situation please

thanks in advance

I would guess the multi plug under the drivers seat has been pulled slightly when the seat was moved when in the garage. Try unplugging it and then plugging it back in and see if that cures it when codes are erased?

that seems to have been the fault thanks you it took a few attempts but its gone now

Its quite common on them I have heard of people cutting the plugs off and fitting bullet connectors or just soldering them together. Glad its all sorted now though.
