Ive noticed that on my spirited drives, the car temp starts to go above the halfway/ three quarters mark towards the red.

 

If I slow down, the temp comes back to normal.

 

I initially thought that it might be a stuck thermostat, so I replaced that earlier today - but its still happening.

 

The timing belt and water pump were changed 4k ago and has been fine.  The coolant dump is via the overflow in the coolant bottle, and the hose from the thermostat is cold, yet im getting hot air inside the cabin.  Both fans are on trying to cool the rad  down!

 

So - any ideas on how to fix it?

I would take out the stat(temporary) and see what happens  is there a problem with stat' housings or am I on the wrong engine?   bit hazy
