Dent removal + swirl marks

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Had a go at getting rid of a small section of swirl marks from the car today, these are the steps i took, correct me if im doing it wrong as still new to this :)

- Rinse over with pressure washer

- Mer shampoo applied with washmit

- rinse off with pressure washer

- De-tar lower parts of car

- allow to dry

- apply meguiars ultimate polish to areas effected by swirl marks ect in attempt to reduce them

- buff out polish (by hand)

- Apply Mer High gloss finishing wax

I managed to get reduce a small 'test' portion of swirl marks on the bonnet by hand but it was alot of hard work, so obviously come may i will be buying a machine polisher, here is the before and after. (excuse poor picture quality).

As you can see it reduced the swirls by quite a bit so am pleased with the result but am now 100% sure i need a machine buffer as if i was to do the whole car my arm might just fall off :D . The car was previously a fire service officers car so im guessing alot of drive-thru washes were used by the looks of the sheer amount of swirl marks. :peek:

On another note.

i noticed yet some more little dents have appeared on my rear doors.. no doubt compliments of someone with a trolley at tesco's yesterday....  tiny ones but still frustrating when you get the rest of the car looking nice and still know they are there  .

any ideas how easy these would be to remove? or any reccomendations of dent removal places around the kettering area?

If you look closely you can just about make them out.

Many thanks

Paul.

A good attempt by hand

To improve that, you will need to machine polish

As regard to dents, you need a professional like Dentmaster

i think the dents are very small and maybe im just overthinking them but im a bit ocd when it comes to these things so it will bug me lol. im guessing they should be very easy to remove as they are so small but will give them a ring and find out :) cheers for the reply!

No problem

If you need some help with the Machine Polishing..you know where I am

Well done, extremely tiresome to polish by hand, but you've definitely made an improvement.

You'll be pleasantly surprised on the improvement made when using a machine polisher.

I'd recommend after de-tar you wash again & then de-iron, wash again & then clay the car. The paint will be very slick after that & ready for polishing.

Keep it up
