Hi guys. Names Andy and Im from central scotland. Just got my first Skoda. Went for an Octavia MK1 Estate 1.8 20v. Fist time in ages I have had a VAG car. Last one was a Leon Cupra TDi. I've been a Toyota man for years now but an impending baby and this coming up at the a good price leads me here. The cars been slightly modified with nice wheels, lowered a bit and a nice stainless exhaust. It's white and the paint is a bit flat but I do enjoy getting the G3 out so that will be a doddle to fix. As usual I have a few questions that I will fire up in the correct section but heres to some reliable fun motoring :-)

Hello , my brother has biught kodiak with matrix led lights. One of the problem is that high beam don't light up automatically and there is option to enable it on the menu. I have read somewere that someone had the same problem , but in tme meatime recieved an ota update and the function appeard . I have an obd11 but can't connect the car because of rhe newer protection so I was wondering how I could enable it. Another thing is if it would be possible to enable the inner rear stop lights. First time starting a project thread, bear with me... Heard about this Roomster not too far from me that might be heading for a scrapyard, and decided to try to acquire it. Local dealership said it would cost £300 to upgrade my maps and suggested that there are better options them then for this! After lots of online research I decided to update the firmware from H4120 to 5274. I have the zipped file RNS_510_FW_5274_update.iso and have burned this to a DVD at lowest speed. When I put the DVD in the unit (no keys in iginition) it whirs around and then after 20-30 seconds comes back with a CD/DVD error. The unit will play a normal music

For the past few weeks my Skoda Scala Infotainment unit has been prompting me to do updates. Almost everyday I get the prompt to do an update. I only get the one prompt in a day. I believe the procedure is to park, accept the update, turn off the ignition, exit the car and lock it. I think some updates only apply when you next start the car.
