Problem with mobile connected to Superb

Featured Replies

I have my Galaxy Note 4 connected to my Superb and it connects as soon as the car is switched on.  I have noticed a couple of issues when the car is switched off.

1. If I am sent a text while driving and go to read it when the car has been turned off, it does not seem to exist on my phone.

2. I also lose my data connection.  I have to reboot my phone to get it to connect.

Anyone know how to fix this?  And does the "remote sim" function need to pass all control to the car?

The RSAP does indeed pass everything over to the car. In effect the car is a phone and just reads your SIM card information to register on the network. This leaves your phone without a connection to the outside world.

The benefits of this are the the car has a big high gain aerial so you get much better signal and the phone is doing almost nothing and so doesn't use much battery.

You can copy text messages from the car to your phone, it is one of the options if you press the menu next to the message on the screen where they all display. This will copy them onto the SIM card of the phone, so you'll need to go and find them on the Galaxy. On my Galaxy S4 I have to go into the Messaging setup and then to Manage SIM Messages, I can the copy them to the phone memory where they will display as normal as part of a conversation.

If you need data while you are driving then you'll need to run your phone in Hands Free Profile mode, just go into the phone menu on the Maxidot and Phone Settings and change it to the other one. At the moment you'll be set to use Premium.

Its not that I need data while I am driving.  When I turn the car off and go home or to the office, my data connection is not connected and I have to reboot the phone to get it back.

You may find that telephone calls are the same, if I get a call in the car it does not show on my handset....

Ah, that sounds like a phone issue rather than something in the car.  You could try going into flight mode and back out to see if that gets data back, I sometimes have to do that if I've been out of a signal area with my S4.  It's a real pain when I don't realise the phone has done it and someone calls to see why I've not replied to an email for hours.
