ive just bought a 2nd vrs and its wheels are in better nick but tyres are 225/45/R17.. so decided to swap them with mine my cars lowered to about 35mm my tyres are 205/50/R17 they dont touch and drives good on them.. ive swapped rear wheels over and ive not drove mine yet just turned it around and im sure i heard the tyres rub on the arch.. has anybody used 225/45's on a lowered octy..

bit higher on the front but rear sits about same..

Some 225s are a bulky square shouldered beasties

Some are rounded sides so follow the arch

Things like pirelli or falken are a nicer fit, where like bf and promewall are square monsters aswell as creeping towards 230 accross

i think they are good year some sort of race/ track sort of tyre..

mines is slightly lowered on 225's and not a single rubbing noise.

back might be as low as it can go with my setup but the fronts can most definitely come down further.

Usually the more u venture towards a track style tyre mate the beefier they get

change of plan now sticking with the 205's we dont have the dam locking nut for the one car lol 

 

but when the 225 was on it was rather close to the inside of the arch..
