Skodas new baby yeti

Featured Replies

New yeti on the front page of auto express.

Thought I'd bring it to the attention of all those who don't buy the auto express.

You beat me to it Dinski, have just got my copy through the post and was just about to see if anybody had picked up on this. This is a Skoda version of the much mooted VW Taigun and is or may be a competitor to the Juke and Captur. Only available in 2 wheel drive with either 1.2 , 1.4 TSI or 1.6 TDI engines. As they say it is really a Fabia SUV but it does look good. Whether it goes into production remains to be seen.

Nope, don't like that.

What do the other skoda suvs look like as it says whole family of them revealed?

I quite like the look at that. But AutoExpress talk some crap so I'll believe it when I see it.

Marie, the article relates to the 7 seat version of the Yeti which is a flagship model and the first to be released, the other is the Citigo SUV which is a no no ( not enough profit to be made from this car).

Looks like someone's been busy with photoshop on a picture of the new Fabia (and squished it up)!

Ok thanks, nothing to see here then  :)

Looks better than the latest offering the All New 3rd Generation Skoda Fabia,

& the Rapid & Rapid Spaceback which have bombed in the UK.

Poor sales in the Citigo and the Roomster Discountinued.

So New Superb is about the only hope for Skoda UK unless Octavia & Yeti sales pick up.

The New Fabia Estate seems to be appealing to customers, if Skoda can get on with Building and Delivering.

Time for a Small Cross Over from Skoda well priced.

On the subject of "New" Skoda SUV's anyone know when the replacement for the current Yeti is likely to be released?

I sense a New Project looming!!??

It's the usual "exclusive images" nonsense - a quick photoshop they did in house.

The respected trade online trade journal GoAuto News reported the MY17 would be released next year, can't remember the month (the way things are these days it could be Jan).

Time to start saving :)

The larger flagship model will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year and has been rumoured to be called the "Snowman" but Skoda have discounted this.

The pictures in AE are just photoshop efforts based on rumour.

I was asking about the timing of the replacement for the existing Yeti, not the larger version I know is due next year.

At a guess, the stretched one might be followed by the short version in time - like you I don't need the extra space.

yes, the article says that by the time the new Yeti comes along, both its smaller and larger brothers should already be on sale.

Any chance a split tailgate- it would give a few more style options perhaps.

The current Yeti is the right size for many of us. I usually change cars every 5/6 years and if the new Yeti is much delayed I may well be tempted by the anticipated new Yeti sized SEAT SUV. Images so far released are of an attractive Yeti sized vehicle and SEAT seem to have really got their act together over the last 18 months.

Okay, now I see that the replacement for the existing Yeti is planned for 2017. So I will probably aim buy one in 2018, providing it is a big step forward in terms of engines and design of course. Incidentally my father always used to tell me "never buy a new car in its first year of production, let someone else get the bugs out!" I have used that mantra for many, many new car purchase and found it to be good advice.
