Dash Temp Warning Light Flashing

Featured Replies

Hi all...I have a 2001 Fabia 1.4 and a problem with the temperature warning light coming on and beeping a few seconds after the car is started. The beeping stops after a few seconds but the icon on the dash continues to flash. After reading on here I thought it might be the coolant expansion bottle so I put in a new one. All was well I thought until after a few miles the temp icon started flashing again and I'm back to square one. The car doesn't seem to be over-heating as the needle goes up to half-way and stays there. There doesn't seem to be any coolant leaks either. Is there anything else I should be looking for?

Check the contacts on the bottle are not to open. You could close them with a small screw driver. Check the wiring for open circuit.

Could be the instrument cluster. The soldered contacts do break over time.
