Fuses , can you help

Featured Replies

Had new tow bracket fitted couple of weeks ago and asked him to put a 12v connector for my cool box in the boot. Today as we are going on holiday Monday put the cool box in and connected up. Found no supply so checked fuse and found number 43 had blown. Put new 20 amp fuse in and found its live all the time where as it should only come on when ignition is on. Could not fathom why until few minuets later it went off ?.Now wonder whether its like the interior lights when leaving the car they go off on a timer.

Trouble there is that when stopping for break the caravan fridge will still be on an flatten the battery unless I disconnet the 13 pin plug. Would appreciate if you help on this. Its a 61 plate Octavia 140 bhp. Thanks.

The standard cig lighter/12v socket is permanently live so if the guy piggybacked onto the same wiring I'd expect your new 12v supply to act the same.
