Car intermitantly wont start

Featured Replies

The car suddenly stopped working.  It would turn over but not kick in.  Diagnostic showed it was key fob which got recoded, then worked for two weeks then started again.  It seemed to start when it was cold but after a short run it wont start for a couple of hours.  I have changed the temp sensor (something I saw on here) and it went brill for a day but went to go to work today and the same thing happened.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I also tried cleaning throttle butterfly thing.

Post up what engine, spec etc as more info required for the boffins on here to diagnose your problems........also if you have had a VCDS scan from the sounds of it what else did it show?

Hi thanks for reply.  The car is a Skoda Fabia classic 8v 1397cc petrol. The first time it happened someone with a small  handheld diagnosic machine said it showing temp switch but second guy with bigger machne said it is the key needing recoded as not matching with immobiliser. He recoded it twice now first time it worked for 2 weeks second time nothing changed.  Seemed to start when cold but then nothing once ran.   Hope this helps you to help me.  :notme:
