So I thought about starting a Project thread as I am planning on some modifications for the car. 

 

 

Picked it up last month, and I am over the moon with it so far. Although all four tyres have seen better days and it spins its tits off if the ground is even moist. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So with it needing 4 new tyres, I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and get the wheels powder coated before new tyres. Took them to the guys at CAS coatings in Bradford, where they've charged me a very reasonable £24 per wheel for full refurb and powder coat. But not getting them back till Wednesday so I'm now carless :( 

 

Decided on high gloss anthracite grey, which will hopefully look nice against the blue.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Planned Mods: 

Ap Coilovers

Whiteline RARB

EBC Drilled and Grooved discs with EBC pads (Done)

Tony Banks Decat and Stainless system with original exhaust tip for authenticity

Airtec FMIC with hard piping

Darkside Remap with possible hardcut limiter

 

Looking into EGR Delete but I've heard its a bit of a nightmare with BLT engines and I'd want to keep the Anti Shudder as well. 

 

any advice is more than welcome, I'm pretty new to the VAG scene but can see myself quickly getting addicted to the power of PD! 

 

 

 

Just this minute ordered 4x Eagle f1's. 

 

was going to go with the RS3's but my mate who has a tyre shop was struggling to get them at a cheap price to match Mytyres and I wasn't prepared to go elsewhere as he has fitted every tyre I've ever bought and I've never had an issue. Plus it's nice to give your local business the work instead of a global company.

Also how much did your tyres cost I'm looking at getting some goodyear f1's soon and heard they are really good.

Yeah its just a matt black spray. Too many colours going on when theres chrome involved.

I'm paying £75 a tyre fully fitted I'll post a review when i've had them on a couple of hundred miles. 

Just ordered 2 80mm new style badges, an octavia vrs Grill badge and a 2013 VRS rear badge so should freshen all the car up. 

 

anybody know if the 52mm new style hub caps

Don't get me started on them road works I have to sit in them every bloody day lol

It's ridiculous at rush hour, I feel for you. Begs to wonder why they haven't put a sensor in them? A 4 way system late at night just leaves me waiting while 3 other lights do their cycle with nobody waiting at them.

Had wheels and tyres fitted today and impresse so far. Need to give chance for tyres to bed in but already can feel the difference in the way it holds the road. They look much fresher as well

I was thinking white for my wheel to be different

To be fair they have done a good job especially with the price i paid.

I once had white wheels... Never again haha. Nightmare to maintain.

You may well have done. Outside the post office?  I was just getting my Pennies changed for euros for venice in the morning     

So I removed the fabia today off the back as I think the lettering is a little old fashioned for a 2007 car.

Not sure I like it though really. Anything I can do to replace it? Before anyone suggests it I will not be putting stick on halfords letters they look awful.

Would the new style vrs badge take the attention away from it? Anyone got pics?

I fitted some Mk2 vRS seats and so fitted the matching bonnet grille and tail gate badges. They look decent in my opinion. There are some photos in my member's cars thread if you can find it. You've got a tidy motor there mate.

That certainly looks unique, I like. I'm gonna get the new style badge though for the centre. Think it freshens up the back nicely.
