Getting an old APS film developed - Where?

Featured Replies

I have an old 40 exp APS film that I want to get developed, but am not having much luck online finding somewhere to send it to. I want prints and CD with digital and preferably download option on top. One place did offer this but their process seems a bit vague, fill in a form online guessing the total price and post that to them for them to contact you for payment, then post you an envelope to send film to them etc etc etc and don't publish a contact number to call them.....

Anyone know a place they would recommend that does a good postal service?

APS! Haven't heard that mentioned for a good while :)

Think http://www.photo-express.co.uk/ still offer a service.

Or you could check on the internet for amateur film and photography clubs,a lot of these guys have their own darkrooms at home.

Most of the high street chains can, but may have to send to their central processing to develop it. Boots, snappy snaps etc etc.

Some also won't touch film older that a certain expiry date as it can mess up their processing chemicals in the negative machine.

APS. The beta max and mini disc of the film world, qnd oddly all connected....

I completely forgot that APS existed as a film format...  I went from 35mm to digital in 2003 and don't think I have put a film in to the chemist to get developed since then, sad I know, thogh I have had some photos printed....

Worked for a photographic firm when APS came out.

The experts gave it a 5yr life. The resolution was rubbish, became grainy above A4 size, and the canisters had a habit of switching to the wrong position meaning new film couldn't be loaded, and used film risked being opened up and ruined.

The only positive was the negs were neatly stored.

I am not that fussed about getting them printed more as high a resolution as possible digital is the preference. I last used said camera in 2002 prob used it for 6 months and then it died! Wasn't cheap either :( Then digital followed 1.3mp FTW! There is only one place local that processes film, but can't use that one.

Because of the age of the film?
