4x4 xenons?

Featured Replies

As Skoda don't sell a new style Octavia with a decent engine I've decided on an old model car.

Were the old model 4x4's offered with xenons as an option? Can't seem to find any for sale so equipped. A search here has revealed little information.

While we are on the subject I believe that the old 4x4 will remap to a similar level as a mapped VRS. Are the rest of the components up to it ie brakes?

I know someone on here has a VRS with LPG+remap which is what I'm planning but I can't help wondering about the wisdom of running a mapped car on LPG, although a REVO map could allow me to have the best of both worlds I guess.

If I can find the right car I should be looking at a practical, economical, 200bhp+ 4 wheel drive, xenon and cruise equipped go anywhere vehicle for 10K. Where else can you get that?

Certainly not in the PD150 Golf I'm running at the moment!

I was considering an LPG conversion prior to my Jabba remap. They offer a variable boost controler to tweak the map depending of fuel type (usually for different grades of petrol). I imagine it would be fairly simple for them to make one of the "steps" for LPG running.

And (I'm sure someone will correct me here) I believe Xenons were only ever an option on the VRs.

If you cant find a model for sale with cruise contorl fitted its not too big a problem. Several places offer a retro-fit service for between

Not sure if xenons were ever an option on the 4x4, I would concentrate on finding a good 4x4 & sort the lights later, I run rally bulbs in mine, not quite legal but they work a treat, the level of the lights can be adjusted from within the car on the 4x4 so if they get a bit dazzling in town or you are heavily loaded you can turn them down.

The old 4x4 re maps exactly as the Rs, Jabba can normally tweak about 220 bhp out with a custom map.

Not an expert on mapped LPG cars but as long as the car is mapped to the fuel I dont see a problem. Try also posting the question on VW, Seat & Audi Forums. all the Engines are the same. Also if you can try some of the European sites, they have been using LPG for years on the continent & I know there are quite a few 1.8T's running LPG over there.

Cruise can be fitted for about

Thanks for the info, was thinking switchable remap like I have on the MKIV Golf rather than Jabba (although I know custom is better and cheaper).

The figure 10K was for a late model Elegance, remap, plus cruise fitting any brake work needed, LPG conversion and maybe uprate the suspension if funds allow. Bit peeved about no standard xenons though.

Is it possible to change bulbs on an Octavia without having to remove the ENTIRE BUMPER as is the case with my MKIV Golf?

Sorry to butt in, though I'd just like to say I am selling my 52 Octavia 4x4 with Jabba Remap, no cruise or xenons though, it does have a Tracker though

It is currently on eBay, with lots of information on www.podwin.co.uk.

If you are interested send me a PM

Looks interesting but no pictures and I'd planned to buy from a dealer unless there is a huge price advantage in a prvate sale. At 8K I could get a 2003 model with similar mileage to the one mentioned here.

Who says it will be 8k might be less, worth a PM or phone call

Private sale that new & it will still have a load of the 3 year warranty to run so not so risky buying privately

True but I feel a little uncomfortable buying from a newish forum member and without the full dealer backup when splashing out a wedge like that. Can only be

I'm sorry I haven't learnt how to do the link thingy yet but have a look on the following: " www.allapprovedcars.com " search "Skoda hatch 5 door" and then "1.8 Elegance". I found about 9 models but they don't mention 4x4 until you click on specific car. There's one or two on there,in particular a Sept. 2002 in white with 20,000 on the clock at

Found out how the link works, complete fluke on my part :o Hope it's of some interest.

cheers Bassman.
