2008 1.9TDI Octavia Judder/shake on idle when warm

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am new to this Forum, but I am an Englishman living in New Zealand.  I have owned my Skoda for 3 years and it has just developed a judder/shake when idling when warm.  I don't have any power loss and the car still drives beautifully.  If I turn the engine off and restart the car, the judder/shaking stops.  When shaking, it seems as thought the engine is going to jump out of the bonnet.

Could anybody help me please?

Assuming your car is a tdi as per your profile, if you look on eBay UK and search for item number 171695077361 you might just find the answer to your problem.

Cheers Smile - is that all that is needed?

I don't know buddy, but it's a fairly common fault and a very cheap fix. If it doesn't work at least you have ruled it out.

Ive not heard of the PD105 being affected by that issue. I thought it was just the 130 BLT engine.

I have read the forum and seen people have had similar problems.  I didn't know which engine they had.  Being in NZ, we are in Kms and it has done 220,000 Kms and all I have had to replace is one wheel bearing, over and above the normal stuff.  If the gasket is the issue, is it safe to drive it for another couple of weeks, because things take a while to get here :)
