I noticed it first stopped at Sheerness. Do VW tend to offload there while Skoda stick with Grimsby?

No, it depends where the dealer is located. VW, Skoda or Seat, it could end up at either Sheerness or Grimsby. Being down sarf, mine arrived into Sheerness.
