Car is randomly revving slightly when I come to a stop and either put clutch peddle down or take out of gear.

 

seems to idle between 1100 and 1500rpm, but if I either blip the throttle or pull the peddle slightly upwards it will drop back down to around 900rpm where it should be,

 

Has been looked at and the throttle position has been reset but not made any difference.

Have you scanned it for any fault codes?

As far as I am aware no faults, told my mechanic friend before it had springs and mot done about it revving slightly randomly and he said there was nothing showing and he has reset the throttle position

Sounds like a dodgy throttle pedal to me. Quite common.

That would be my guess too. Especially since he said when he pulls the throttle pedal up it goes back to normal.
