Sticking Front VRS Badge

Featured Replies

has anyone glued a new VRS badge onto the front grill? had to get a new one as the original went missing and I gave up on the dealer after 3 attempts to get them to replace it.

the old glue was soft like silicon sealant but I wondered about using a solvent weld like you use on plastic waste pipes.

any suggestions?

If the original was on with soft glue like silicon sealant that is odd.  original ones usually require the old glue cleared off the grill with a craft blade.

Personally i just use Super Glue & have used Badge/ Trim tape, but what ever works for you will do the job,

just use sparingly first and see if that does the job.

You could also order some vRS badge which tightens from both sides of the grille. I think superskoda has some of these.

its not the original grill, its a replacement due to an accident , so I guess the body shop didn't stick it on properly

bit late for that, got a genuine part from eBay!

Odd that a body shop did not have the correct stuff, or just that they did not use it,

black and very good at putting panels and trim on so that it does not come off.

Sorry to hijack. ...ive got my oem one on and want to remove it. Are we saying its just stuck on then?

Yes, but like plastic Welded / Glue.   So you need to tidy up the Black on the 2 slats of the grill.

If not putting some other badge on.

Just some careful use of a blade, a little sand paper & some Black satin, Paint, Shoe dye/Polish or what ever.

looks like the Skoda Approved body shop didn't know what it was doing, time to try the Osma solvent weld!
