Amudsen + Firmware update?

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

I am relatively new to the forum and a Skoda newbie

I recently got a 2012 Skoda Fabia II elegance 1.2 TFSI and still trying to work out the different capabilities of the Amundsen+

There are a lot of topics about this but after spending days of reading didn't get the answer i was hoping.

Basically, I cant get my Nav to play music over bluetooth using an i phone 5.

Its already paired and hands free function works flawlessly.

However when I try to stream music over bluetooth nothing happens.

When i go to Media i can only see "Aux in" and not "BT Audio" as I saw in some other posts.

My guess is that Amundsen+ has an old firmware version or the function is locked and needs coding?

I managed to find the current software/hardware version but had no luck of finding an update.

Part No: 3TOO35192J

Software version : 0319

Hardware version : H52

I would also like to know whats the deal with updating maps.

When I got the car it didn't have the SD card.

I recently had it serviced and technician told me that i can simply buy an sd card and download updates from Skoda.

After a bit of research it looks like that only applies for the newest cars Fabia III etc...

Please to hear your comments and advise.

Many thanks in advance

Off the top of my head you have to select it to play music as well as hands free phone, I can't quite remember but I'm sure there is a box that needs ticking in settings or something along those lines...

Not sure why you can't stream via BT, mine works perfectly but I have seen other reports where some people don't get the track details displayed. Should just have to select BT Audio once it's paired. Have you tried un-pairing them? So maybe reset the pairing settings on your phone and also on the radio? I have an iPhone 6 btw so same operating system.

As for the maps, on the Amundsen the data is stored on its hard drive. I've heard somewhere that you can purchase an update CD/SD Card but also heard of it going wrong and becoming unusable. Personally I wouldn't worry about updates, mine has the latest and I've only had 1 instance where it has felt "lost".

On the Amunsden+ the maps are stored internally on a HDD. but you can update via a mmc via the card slot, not cheap however!

Regarding BT, I'm an android user and don't remember any particular set up issues. I had to activate a setting on the phone to 'use as a media device' dies the iPhone have that option? You could try going into the settings on the unit and resetting defaults? SWMBO has a 5 so I can try and connect it up at the tomorrow after work see if I can see any differences?
