Quick query re. front grill clips.

Featured Replies

One of the clips on my grill (pre facelift Mk 2) has broken so the grill now sits proud of the edge of the bonnet. Anyone know whether I can replace just the clip or is it time for a new grill?

Thanks in advance.

That's great, thanks Mike. The grill is in decent condition so didn't want to have to replace the whole thing if I could avoid it.

Someone did report the lid off a Bic Biro worked to remove the clip as well.

You'll know when you've got the right socket in the right place (I thought I used a 5mm, but it was a year ago, and cider has been involved since then), as you'll feel a click from the clip (under light tension). Once it's clicked, you can move on to the next one. And just use the socket, don't have any attachment on it as the clip will need to go through the hole at the back.

The dead clip should just slide out and the new one slide in.

Re-fitting is just a gentle thump on each clip.
