We have been offered 2250 for our 05 plate fabia vrs with 98k miles and in good condition.

Seems a good number to me, anyone had similar recent experience and if best to sell private or go for that p/x??

Not tried them, mainly because of their reputation of quoting one thing and delivering something else.

My time and stress levels do not want me to even consider that route ;-)

Nothing stopping you going on the website and seeing what price they offer, if all your asking for is a guide for p/x price.

Have a look on parkers too they usually give rough guides for used values. Other than that look on auto-trader to see what similar age/spec/mileage cars are up for.

It's only for the quote. You don't HAVE to sell it to them.

A lot of dealers seem to quote we buy any car when it comes to trade in prices.

I have only PX'd cars twice and prefer to sell privately in order to get the best deal. The only reason why I chose to PX is that they offered more that I had paid for the cars originally. The best bet is always to research the market well before you buy or sell as your are doing already.
