Cruise control

Featured Replies

I think they get 'points' from EuroNCAP for having a speed limiter too. It doesn't prevent you from giving it the boot though, if you hit full throttle then it should react normally.

  • I use cruise control a lot in mine. Its very simple.

  • Yes I agree, somewhat like the mirrorlink fiasco (but thats another thread)

  • Yes, but I dont want to annoy the driver behind me. So I will have to use switch.

It doesn't let you give it the boot! if it hits the speed you set it will not go any faster :notme:

Yes it does

page 120 in the manual:

"This limit can only be exceeded by depressing the accelerator pedal fully."

I havent tried it though, as too much of a lazy driver to exceed speed limits LOL

I stand corrected, tried it today, and yes if you floor the pedal it will exceed the set speed :p

Thats fair enough tbh.

Proper safety feature.

Sometimes the accelerator is needed to get out the way isnt it.

Looking at this pic from the manual some models have one or both...

Hi lesmond,

The photograph of the control stalk shows that it is a limiter by the letters LIM. The SE model does not have cruise control. Fig 134 shows both of the control stalks. I think that the limiter still has it's use e.g. in long roadworks where average speed cameras are in use. Regards.

Hi Guys - thanks for all the advice. Thats a result if a poorly written owners manual.

I can now get cruise control

So it would seem that the SE manual only has the speed limiter and not cruise control.

Correct. My wife has an SE.

I have discovered this and wish I'd known before I bought the car!!

I've been out on two trips in the car and I NEED cruise control. I do a lot of motorway driving and I use it all the time.

When I went to buy the car, I told the dealer that there was one absolute essential feature I must have - cruise control. They said it had and it is shown on all the paperwork so guess what.....

The dealer is going to give me cruise control.

I've been trying to research it to see if I am doing something wrong and now I've seen conflicting posts on the forum but finally found this which is exactly the same as model mine and does not have the D button.

I'm going out in it soon and will try once more then if I have no luck I'm back to the dealer.

If I find out a way to use it, I'll let you know.

Thanks for the info.
