Rear pads wearing

Featured Replies

hi my octavia is wearing out the inside pad on the near side rear every 3-4000 miles right down to metal but the other 3 are almost new ive changed caliper and still the same any ideas

That sounds like the HB mechanism is seized, or the cable is stuck in the sheath.

Ok thanks ill give that a try

Cailper sliders seized by any chance,

If handbrake was stuck on then disc would be discoloured and back brakes would smell after a run,

I'd discounted the seized sliders because, well, new caliper fitted.

Your argument about heat blueing would only apply if the HB was stuck full enough on to apply friction both sides, but not enough to stop the wheel turning, and can apply to a seized slider as well.

New caliper including new carrier????

For it to hold one pad against disc you either need other pad to be touching aswell or something holding it against
