What Mobile Network to use?

Featured Replies

For reference, have a look at the top 2 results below - these are 4G speeds on my Nokia Lumia on EE:

That's pretty impressive. I wanted to try an EE PAYG to see what the signal was like but alas you can't get one free - you have to have it with a bundle.

No worries, support is 8am to 8pm, will no doubt get a response in the morning.

1. Where will you use it?

For instance, at work we have no O2 coverage, at home no Vodaphone.

So ask your a, colleagues and b, neighbours what networks work well.

The online coverage charts on the network websites lie.

Cheers! Much appreciated

They've come back to me and suggested I look here:

The best they do by the looks of things is a text and talk SIM for £1 - 25 mins and 50 texts, but also includes 10MB of data. Might be enough to test with?

Cheers Coops for doing that. I'll take a look

Well I've tried the EE SIM around home and where I work and the signal is not as good as Vodafones. I am struggling to get faster than 3G in most places and Edge seems to be the default level. Disappointing.

I think a 3 SIM is at home waiting for me to try

Three. Unlimited everything, £36/month. Blisteringly fast 4G data!

And greatsignal everywhere in 3 world /their coverage charts. meanwhile, I can only get a signal upstairs on 3, and that's on 3g. Their coverage charts says great where I live, but customer service says only outside.

Well to follow this up I have got myself a 1mth contract with 3 to try for a month. So far so good. I like the fact that it uses vodafone 2g in the event of no 3 3g signal. The three in touch app looks like it works well too
