New Key - VCDS Configuration needed

Featured Replies

Hi all,

We have bought a new un-cut flip key for my brothers car off ebay recently, as he only had one rather rough on for the car.

The key was cut today and we tried to pair it to the car this evening with only a limited amount of success. We went through the adaption process for the central convience module and managed to get it to do an unlock from the new remote, however not a lock.

Also the immobiliser key flashes on the dash when you try and start - the engine only runs for 1 second when started.

I take it the immobiliser coding might be a separate process with vag com. Has anyone done this?

Any thoughts or guidance on coding to the car for central locking and the immobiliser greatfully received.

Also the original key has been chewed by the previous owners dog and I can't press the central locking key on it to open the car or to lock it.

Thanks again,

Kangaroo

You need the skc for the immobiliser then you can code the immobiliser chip in the new key. Without it then you need VAG tacho or similar.

Thanks trundlenut

Sounds like it might need to be a garage job. Is there nothing I can do in VCDS to find the Skoda key code?

VCDS can't extract the SKC from the cluster.
