Aircon Compressor Valve

Featured Replies

Hello

As all you know about the known issue of Octavia Aircon . Sometime it works some it does not most of the time it start after 10-20 min. after the first run .

I also have this issue for a while now after reading and researching seems like that I might have the faulty valve .

Which I guess look like this

Is this part come separately at Skoda . Does it have the part no. or something ?

Which other car uses this specific valve so I can look at local dealers

You can safely remove the old switch with a short spanner.

The part number is stamped on it.

I bought a replacement on eBay for £22 last year, the part number was identical except for the last letter, the revision letter, don't worry about.

The part fits many models of car and takes 5 minutes to replace, no specialist equipment required.

Mine had failed due to corrosion from condensation, I smeared silicone around it once in situ to prevent it happening again.

I live in India and there is nothing on Indian ebay , I have to take a look on ebay UK that means extra postage charges.

Can anyone point me to a good ebay seller who is reliable ?

Use the seller feedback value on eBay if you're paranoid.

You'll probably find Hong Kong items cheaper than elsewhere, worth a try.

BTW the high pressure switch does not look like the item you posted a photo of, I don't know what that is.

What Bugbear posted is not the HP switch , its different thing altogether. The valve Bugbear wants  goes into the compressor itself , I fitted one last year to  a 06 octavia , it come from Poland about £40.00 or so.

The system has to be empty but once that's done its not a big job with a pair of circlip pliers and some dexterity. Don't need the compressor or anything else apart from the under engine shield removed

Its a compressor control valve, had to look it up.

The One I posted is the valve but it is different than the one Octavia has. It goes Inside the Compressor . I know it because I removed one from a faulty compressor .

erindad how is it working after a year , did you face any type of issue with that one

Edited by BUGBEAR

I sold the car after about 3 months use , I wasn't sure if it was working properly or not . It was certainly working better than with the old valve.
