First Skoda (first new car)

Featured Replies

Hi all - I bought an imported Octavia (new) a year or so ago - excellent, no problems, but hand written entry in service book said next service due Nov 05. Took it to 2 local Skoda dealers who both said QG2 (?) service schedule on sticker means it's not due for another year yet - only done 4000 miles. Who is right? At

The original dealer may have reset the car during the PDI for fixed service intervals - ie QG2 - in which case that is what it is on until its first service. You can get it reset to QG1 - variable service intervals - when it has its first service. The current setting can be confirmed by a dealer using diagnostic equipment - or by somebody with VAG-COM software. If on fixed service intervals, you should be getting a warning shortly in the trip counter display that a service is needed.

PS - Which model is it?

Thanks for your help.

It's a 1.9 TDi 81 kW (estate).

Re the service warning in trip counter display:

As I do <5000m/yearwon't this normally only appear a year from now if it's on the fixed 2 yr/ 10000 mile QG2 service schedule - if I have now read the service booklet correctly?
