Felicia Pickup buying guide

Featured Replies

Hi all,

First post on here. Looking at buying a Felicia Pickup / Mk2 caddy and am just wondering what the usual problems with them are?

I've heard about rust on the rear arches, but not sure if there are any other common faults to look for when buying.

Will be my daily drive, but mainly wanting a pickup to carry around my bikes and car parts.

Thanks,

Alex

Welcome to the forum, I probably can't help you loads as my pickup was in pretty decent condition when I bought it, however there are lots of people on.here who know a lot! The only things I read/was told was to watch the rear suspension turrets, load bed, front inner arches and avoid the 1.6 engine!

check the common issues and solutions sticky.

leaky windscreen, rust on sills. temp gauge, heater, slop in gear linkage, exactly the problems my truck has got.

Yeah I forgot to mention that, I think leaking windscreen and rusty sills are a given on every felicia ever made ;) :(

A good few things to look out for then :P

Whats wrong with the 1.6 engine?

Thanks

1.6 was the most powerful but from what other people seem to experience there are almost guarantee emission issues/failures every MOT often to do with head gaskets/exhaust etc. I have no experience personally but if you look at some threads about felicia funs (all had 1.6) You'll soon see the problems!
