simoniz, would i be wasting my £3?

Featured Replies

Tesco do simoniz quick wax instant shine for £3 for 500ml.  Would I be wasting my pennies to buy it?

At the price I wouldn't expect much but basically, since I've never used a QD  before, I'm not sure how effectively one would fit into my routine and aims.  At £3 this seems to offer a way to try a product type cheaply.   What do people think of it?

My routine BTW is a car that is low mileage and garaged, tends to get a lot of miles one weekend a month and is then washed 2BM.  Sealant 3 times a year ( but thinking a bit of QD on top of the sealant I could reduce the sealant use to twice a year and still maintain good protection).  If the bottle of QD and a MF cloth sat in the garage close to the car, a quick squirt and wipe might happen quite often as I put my bike away..... Although that might mean one side of the car didn't get much QD compared to the other!

Anyway, I'm thinking is the simoniz stuff going to be useful in meeting me try out a QD to see if it fits me and my aims?

It is worth every penny.

In Asda as well.

Spray on your application cloth or pad, not on the car, you do not want it going where not intended,

and polish off quickly.

Work a small area.   Very fast for a quick shine up.

EDIT.

Sorry the purchase from Asda i have is

Triplewax 'Fast Wax' in a Silver Spray Bottle. 500 ml

The Tesco i have is Simoniz Diamond Hard,

Not in a Spray Bottle. also quick.

For £3 go for it, you could even do a review for others.

Damn!  Went to tesco extra in stretham (it's big) but they don't stock it.  I then needed to spend a fiver or pay to park....no meal worms ( the robins in the garden have chicks to feed), no parade gloss shoe polish.... Useless!   Finally found special k and ratatouille and got out of there!

Are you talking about the 500ml simoniz wash and polish quick shine detailer ?

I think Wilko sell It too. I noticed they had a lot of simoniz products when I got some Wonder Wheels Hot Wheels wheel cleaner there for only £5

I am a massively believer in each to their own.

Some people swear by a certain product others will say its rubbish

For me I have to try some thing to see if it's any better.

I like the autogylm range

1 fairly cheap

2 everywhere sells it

3 it's not bad at what it does

4 easy to use

Try it and see what you think could be he best £3 you have ever spent :)

Me too Paul

Ive tried expensive waxes etc...

IMO the cost of them does not match their performance in many cases....Is a £100 wax 5 times better than a £20 one?

As you say , "Each to their own"

There is a massive amount of snobbery attached to them

These budget products (Simonize etc...) can be good and offer incredible value for money

Look at Power Maxed products...Very cheap but high performing

Their QD is awesome

I've used the second one you've listed there, the quisckshine detailer spray.I pulled a face and feigned gratitude when a relative of mine gifted me a bottle.but having used it on 5 occassions now I'd have to say its incredibly easy to use and if you put another layer on ,the following morning, gives a lovely glossy and mirrored finish that will keep the dust and dirt at bay for at least 3 weeks at a time.

I've no idea what it costs but if you are looking for a low effort result that wont take up much of your time....its a good'un.Only downside to it is the spray nozzle is a tad splattery in its distribution.

Completely agree :)

I used to use zymol waxes VERY good however not cheap AG HD wax performs just as well for a quarter of the price

I was just reading the posts,

then up come the adverts on the page for Tesco Car Care Products.

Simoniz Carnauba Speed Wax 500ml for £2.50.

So i will be having a Multi Buy of that tomorrow if the first trial of it shows it is OK.
