Car Cleaning Kit Around The Home

Featured Replies

While spending this morning cleaning the kitchen it got me thinking. What products we currently use on our cars could also apply around the home?

Glass and upholstery are the obvious ones... sealant/quick detailer perhaps on polished wood surfaces... you have given me an idea for a highly polished Italianate coffee table I was stupid enough to try T-cut on ... it started to melt and dull the laquer... :)

Alan.

APC for work surfaces, carpet cleaning

Rain repellant on shower screens

Anti fogging on bathroom/shower mirrors

Air fresheners after a night on the lash/curry :giggle:

Just don't try to put vinegar in your screen wash reservoir...... It's not very nice.

T cut or similar for the inside of glass oven doors when they get dirty....gawd I'm a domestic goddess.......

Off topic I am afraid, but relevant to Theezenuts post ... I thought my screen had wax on it when I collected the car, as when I first used the washers and wipers I was immediately driving blind ... so I cleaned the screen and wiper blades thoroughly with IPA then PowerMaxed screen cleaner. and when it next rained today, the wipers kept the screen nice and clear ... UNTIL ... I used the screenwashers again, when the same happened, so it seems I have something in the screenwash reservoir that should not be there... I will need to remove it and clean it out.

I'm guessing it's Rainex. The car I've just bought must have something similar in it as I did exactly the same as you and was perfect until I used the washers then I was blind again.

Snow foam or TFR the conservatory... cuts through the moss buildup

I certainly make use of the car care products on the house... to great effect!

APC generally, or AD FAB on carpets, fabrics and smeels great.

KKD glass cleaner on house glass/mirrors - Bubblegum scent is ace!

Chrome work and chrome rads get the autosol treatment.

UPVC frames and sills get BSD applied

Shower screens with Gtechnig G5

I'm running low on glass cleaner after doing a split screen VW yesterday. Is the KKD smear free? Does it evaporate relatively quickly?

KKD has been my fav glass cleaner for about a year now.

Even the missus loves it and the Bubblegum scent.

Smear free and great value. One of the FB groups had a GB running recently....
