Double Din Installs - rns 510?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how hard it would be to fit a fully work RNS 510?

has anyone done it?

Minty

The RNS / Columbus etc is not a true double Din so you would need to source a different (squarer) facia panel for starters, they also bolt into the dash rather than slide into a cage.

So this isn't an idiot friendly install.

Do you know what an install would likely cost?

I doubt it no, thats even if it would even work in anything not full CANBUS (with it being designed for a full CANBUS car)

Dam it! Any suggestions on a resonable double din for the fabia ideally with sat/bt/iphone compatability?

Idiot install proof to?

I have a Pioneer Appradio fitted to the Superb which doesn’t really suit my needs as it only really comes into its own when it’s connected to an iPhone etc... and I rarely connect mine, I just use it for the bluetooth.

The sat nav etc is all app based, likewise so is the music (of which I do not have any on my phone) I should really have bought something with an SD card slot in it (I had a MKII Superb / Columbus before).

What it looks like fitted to my MKI Superb:

Thats nice would one fit as plug n play for the fabia?

Yes it was a straight plug and play for the Superb so I see no reason why it should be different in a Fabia.

I keep on meaning to replace it for something with an SD card but not sure I can be bothered as it does look and sound really nice.

Thanks for the advice I'll have a look at them - which model did you go for?

Pretty sure mine is the SPH-DA110

Only thing was I didn't fit it as it was all an Xmas present and swmbo got it all done as a surprise.
