Why do my mirrors no longer fold on the key?

Featured Replies

I have had my brand new 2015 Yeti for 2 weeks now. I have previously had two Octavias and a 2012 Yeti. This one is an Elegance. When I got it the mirrors would fold in if I held the key fob for 2 seconds but a few days ago this stopped working and I now have to manually fold them. I keep the car in a secure underground car park that is quite tight so this important.

Any ideas how to reset to the previous state?

I suspect the "one touch" window operation has failed on at least one window and needs resetting.

Find which one it is and close it then hold the switch up for a few seconds, I'm pretty sure when you reset that your folding mirrors will then work on the key.

PS: I see you're from Ipswich, I moved from there to Lincoln 20 years ago tomorrow but still visit at least once a month to see family that is still down there.

Easiest way is to close and hold the switch "up" for each window in turn, simpler than trying to find out which window needs resetting. My door mirrors stop folding every couple of months so have done this exercise many times; no idea why it happens but it seems somehow to be related to how frequently you wind the windows up and down!

Urrell is correct - This happened to My Yeti, the drivers window would not 1 touch close or open & the Mirrors stopped folding in at the same time.

I would bet that your drivers window  has lost 1 touch.

Remember, that each key fob can be set up differently, so if you have two keys, try the other one.

I don't know if the mirrors can be set in the maxidot or not, if so then both keyfobs will require setting up too.

Thank you for all of your help. It was the driver's door window that had lost its auto shut. I tried holding the window control up but nothing happened. It turned out that I was being too enthusiastic and holding it for a longer period. When I held it for just 2 seconds everything went back to normal.

Many thanks for all of the contributions towards the solution.
