In 2010 with the facelift.

It got a the silver lights with projector low beam and reflector high beam

The black pack lights are available on the Monte Carlo and vrs if specced.

Although they are known not to perform quite as well as the silver ones.

vRS Fabia mid 2011.

Have a look up in the vRS Register.  July 2011.

I missed out by one week my build date was week 34 of 2011 and the black pack was week 35.

Depends how much you appreciate headlight performance.

Looks over functionality with the black pack maybe.

Easy bulb upgrade should sort the lag in performance?

You might think so.....

Full HID conversion is best in the black pack imo

I changed mine out for some halfords specials that were 2 for one and they are spot on.

I live in a rural area and the lighting is poor and they light up the road no problem. The HID kit is the ultimate though

Arent HID conversions illegal now without auto levelling and headlight washing?

No not if it did not have auto head light levelling and washing in the first place.

If it did then it needs to work.

As George says.

But please dont make us go over this old chessnut again lol.

Still had the silver lights, and chrome grille trim, in Oz up until withdrawn from sale late last year - I'm not sure why, unless VW Australia insisted on keeping the car as uncompetitive with the Polo as possible.

Were all the Mk2 Fabia vRS imported to Australia still fitted with the CAVE engine, or did you get them with the 1.4 TSI CTHE engine

that was introduced last Quarter 2012 in Europe.?

The motor was changed at the same time, late 2012. They were built in the same factory, just with an Oz spec - rear power windows, rear sensors, underseat storage, sunglass holders, and the chrome trim, were standard.

That will have been Skoda / Volkswagen having the parts bins used up probably, and as you say, probably not having

the Skoda looking as good as it could easily have been against the likes of a Polo in case it would take buyers from them.

my dealer went off on one last week at Service because i had illegal HID's fitted.  i was quite blunt with my reply when i said " i think whats more illegal is you selling a car with such abysmal lighting as standard".  he then tried to tell me they had never had a complaint.......****s.

Genuinely the worst lights i have ever seen on any car i have owned in the last 20 years and that includes my early mk2 fiestas...lol
