Yes thought why not, they are only an extra 30 euro either. Maybe they are standard in the UK?

  • Finally picked mine up today. Really happy with it!

  • Here are a few pictures I found on Instagram...

  • Well, I picked up my monte yesterday afternoon and I am very happy     Going to head back to the dealer soon, as I hopping that the "voice control" button the steering wheel can be activated.

Dropped in on Progress Skoda in Northampton on my travels yesterday. They've just taken delivery of their MC demonstrator. I only had time to look at it for a couple of minutes, but first impressions were positive. Seats are comfortable. The interior colour scheme isn't quite as in-your-face as I was expecting. I must admit I'm coming round to it, if only because the standard black interior is so drab. Pedals a bit garish but I wouldn't be looking at them. Pseudo carbon fibre finish on the dash looks good. Steering wheel is very nice - is it the same as the 'Supersport' one that's on the options list for the other trim levels?

Externally, body add-ons all look very good. It seems strange to say it, but the Race Blue paint reduces their visual effect. They'd look more obvious on lighter paint colours.

It DEFINITELY needs the sports suspension. This one looks like it's on stilts!

I popped in earlier. Think I know what I want in my life...

I haven't seen mention of them (heated washer jets) in the standard equipment list in the brochure, so probably not. They're an option on Yeti and Octavia, I think.

Overr here heated jets are standard on all models as it seems.

General agents choice.

Might be an interesting post-purchase mod..... :)

As for the interior colour scheme - yes, a bit 'brash' and busy. I think it's down to the deckchair stripes down the middle of the seats. If you hold your finger over the top of them on the photo I posted, it all looks much cleaner and simpler, to my eyes.

Are they the 16" alloys? Don't they look small!

The pricing is jus crazy!  Just been on the Skoda configurator. Almost 17.5k for what I'd want, with pretty much no options, other than front and back electric windows, which in 2015 rear electric windows should surely be standard!? That's without discounts from Car wow/Drive the Deal etc but I could still get a polo gti with a FAR better engine for cheaper than this.

The pricing in Ireland seems a bit more reasonable. Over here it is only €600 more than an SE L spec with the same engine.

How much are you able to get the Polo for?

Who's doing 0% finance on VW's? Got a link to it?

its a poor show, i'm out as i ended up buying the vrs estate mk2 .

oh and 16's really, the 17's should be standard as the 16's look like trolley wheels.

hope they have some better engines in the pipeline as come 3 years time i will have to move from skoda

unless somebody is knocking these out with huge discount i don;t expect to see many on road.  the mk2 had much more road presence, in fact it was the best looking of all the mk2's including the VRS.  shame they got it so wrong yet again, especially price wise

Price wise VW have the Polo GTI 1.8TSI Manual / DSG on sale,

and they are either just slow in being delivered or as poor sellers as the VW / Audi /Seat & Skoda Twincharger were.

Then the Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.8tsi will be coming at what ever prices.

A Hot Fabia Estate is what they could do with offering at something below £22,000 in the UK. IMO.

If they did do a Warm or Hot All New 3rd Generation Fabia with some Motorsport DNA its going to have to be rather costly

taking into account the Crazy Pricing of the Monte Carlos.

I'd love to see the 1.4 ACT 150PS in the Fabia, but I don't think it will happen. Annoying, as all the prep necessary has been done with the Polo BlueGT.

& the Seat Ibiza & the Audi A1.

VWG do the smaller hatches in plenty of variations, but its just they limit the engines in the Ibiza & Fabia estates to not take sales

from the Leon, Golf or Octavia Estates.

Yep drove an A1 with DSG and 1.4 TFSI, I think it was 140bhp. Lovely car.  :)

Its a shame the Fabia only goes up to 1.2 and 110bhp but it'll do!

I'd argue that with the bigger alloys and sports suspension, it has much more presence.

'Sports Suspension'. !

They are still on stilts with what Skoda call 'Sports Suspension',  so where is 'the stance' giving any More Presence?

There is a member that posted up on the Owners Register , post #36,  with a SE L (110)

with H&R 40mm Lowering Springs fitted by the dealer & with 17" Alloys.

It would be good to see pictures of 'The Stance' of that New Fabia.

This was it at Geneva earlier this year, on the sports suspension. I think you can see that it immediately looks better.

And are you sure what springs they had on for display purposes.

(that one at Geneva looks like the transportation spacers were still in the springs!)

At least they do not ratchet strap them down anymore.

Personally i think it looks a bit high, but then i run my Mk2 a bit high, because it is function over style that matters IMO.

?

Have you driven a New Fabia on Sport Suspension because the difference is not that much in my experience of having driven a diesels and petrols.?

I've still got 18 months left on my current Rapid Sport, so by that time I hope the 150 BHP engine is in production in the MC as that could sway me! If not I will be looking at the Polo GTI as an option, not sure why they aren't selling very well, as the 1.8 TSI engine is a cracking engine going by reviews.

I don't think Red suits it too well! Would like to see a Balck one! IMO that's the best colour for the MK2 Monte Carlo aswell!
