Featured Replies

Does anyone know if these alloys in pic will fit my octy vrs LE? If so are they decent alloys to get or better off with alternative.

Cheers.

yes they will fit.  make sure you get the hub rings too.

Can't comment on the brand - don't know them - ask about the weight.  I'd be wanting less than 10kg.  If they are more than 13kg then walk away

Yes they will fit, I`ve heard of Dare, they seem an ok brand AFAIK? I would ask about the weight as mentioned. I`d also be wanting 19" on a Mk2 Octavia though personally.

^ what he said.

ET and width, pcd is fine, centre bore is too big so you'll need spigot rings.

Cheers for the info people.

Do yous know the exact fit I would need for new alloys. Center bore etc?

Centrebore is 57.1mm.  You'll only get OEM wheels with that - all the rest will need hub rings.  It's normal industry practice.

There's no such thing as "exact fit" even if you stick with OEM rims.  I've run 16x6.5 ET50; 16x7.5 ET52; 17x7.5 ET45 & about to fit 18x7.5 ET52 - all OEM VAG rims (because they are cheap 2nd hand).

What size are you currently running and what look are you trying to achieve?

Do you want a comfortable ride or are you happy to lose a few fillings & be constantly on the lookout for potholes?

How much do you want to pay for tyres?

Do you want the car to look "factory" or do you want it to look like you are on the bleeding edge of performance?

Gonna sit like my rims does. I've got 8x18 ET45.

Cheers for info mate. I'm currently sitting on standard LE 18s which I believe are Monza Rs and like butter when challenged with potholes anyway?

I'm just looking to get something more solid and reliable really. Just out of taste I'm looking for something like 5 spoke alloy to show caliper kinda thing as hate multispoke!

I'm happy with how it sits and feels so don't want to compromise comfort in anyway or pay through the nose for tyres either haha

trawling eBay at mo for a bargain

What tyre pressures are you running?  On 18s with crap roads I'd be aiming for at least 36psi.

I must say that I'm not looking forward to fitting the 18s to mine but they were too cheap to pass up.  Unmarked S3 rims and RE050A Bridgestone with 7mm of tread remaining for AUD300 (Call it GBP200).  I couldn't say no.

There are lots of aftermarket wheels that are available with 57.1mm centre bore.   My neuspeeds had 57.1 mm centres for example..

I'm running exactly 36psi on front and rear at the min. Bargain on the alloys you got there by sounds of it. They the 5 spoke S3s or?.....
