Airbag Controller Fault - Replacement ?

Featured Replies

Hey guys

My airbag light has come on, VCDS-Lite says airbag controller memory fault (65535) From what I can see, this means the airbag controller is kaput. The module in my car is 6Q0-909-605H and it's a single airbag (driver's airbag)

It would appear that the 6Q0-909-605H has been replaced by 1C0-909-605K. Can I replace the module with a 1C0-909-605K? My other question is, does it matter which one I get, as Vagcat lists many differnet modules e.g. for driver & passengers airbag, another for side airbags etc. do I need to get a specific one or can I just grab any 1C0-909-605K?

FInally, if I fit this, is there any way for me to recode it to the car using a cheapo USB cable and VCDS-Lite, or is it a garage job? It's not feasible for me to afford the proper Ross-Tech cables unfortunately

Many thanks for any help !
