PID information

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have just added a citigo sport to the family's transportation. Great fun to drive, in fact I leave my superb on the drive if I get the chance!

So, my question is this. Our car never came with a PID when we bought it second hand. Now I realise there are laods on eBay and I am looking at a second hand one rather than new, does it make any difference whether I opt for a Garmin or a Navigon? Does it matter if it is an UP!, a Mii, or best to opt for Citigo? I will want the skoda logo to be on the splash screen. Difficult or expensive to update? Anything else you can advise me on??

Thanks one and all.

Craig

I'd go for the Garmin as the Navigon were unreliable. It doesn't matter which vehicle its out of as it will recognise the car/model when it's plugged in.

There is a new update available for the Garmin unit.

Welcome to the world of the Citigo, you might as well sell your superb now :D try and find a second hand unit from a Mii as most accessories for the Seat are the cheapest of the 3

Yes that's strange how the same part is cheaper at a Seat dealer [emoji6]

I ordered a new (but opened) unit off a seemingly honest chap off the dreaded eBay!!!!!!

It is a Garmin as I have noticed how the navigon's don't seem to fetch as much.

Are updates expensive would you know for the mapping software?

PS. Hyphons, can;t get rid of the superb it's my mile muncher and since August it's seen 30k. But it is a faultless machine and being the edition 100 it's got some nice toys for a 10yr old car. Just hoping the lead I have ordered will elt me get rid of the bloody dated head unit and keep the DSP / amp whilst getting some sound of the thing!!!

Thanks for all the repsonses, i'll be back with many more questions I am sure :)

That's about all that is.

My service cheaper at Skoda.

Full set of mud flaps a good deal cheaper to buy the Skoda fit ones than buy the Seat set.

They all seem a mx of prices I've found. Doesn't seem right.

Well the unit arrived today, Wow. What an impressive bit of kit.

Now can anyone tell me is the on,ly way of updating to use the 80% off code or do these units come with an initial update as per a "normal" sat nav (latest map guarantee or similar)?

Ta.

I had a latest map guaranteed on mine, went from Q4 2013 to Q1 2015.
