If a hatch then

8x18

Et35

225/40/18

Will be fine bud

Use a tyre such as a falken and even less probs will be likely

Is it lowered at all ?

If a estate ive seen issues from 225s on the rear on some if lowered

This usually seems to be gremlin related as i also know of lots of estates that are fine lol

Thank you for the replys

It is a "2000" hatchback, standard ride height

Why will a falken tyre cause less problems?

Falkens are in the group of tyres with a more rounded shoulder

Falken pirreli and iirc vredestein

They arent bulky square shouldered fat boys

Like primewell and bf

Also the nankang as-1 is a very narrow tread tye, so much its actually got a out the mould stretch :)

I had issues on my estate with 225/40/18s rubbing on the rear and rubbing the paint off the metal inside the arch. Wheels are 18x8et35.

No issues whatsoever with 215/40/18s.

I have no issues with 205/50 17's on my estate.

ty for replys guys so it seems i should be safe with 215 40 18 that is the option i will go for ty all

Defo mate, just watch ur arch gap and ride height look

18s will make it seem higher of the ground, and 215/40/18 have a smaller wall so wont fill arch as much

Are u planning any lowering ?
