Fabia estate heating system

Featured Replies

Has anyone had problems with the heating controls on a Fabia? My heater occasionally turns itself full on and, even adjusting the heater control back to cool fails to stop the hot air being pumped into the cabin. My garage has attempted to solve the problem without success.

The car is an Elegance 2.0

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mike

Will probably need either a new heater flap motor or the motor resetting. Requires either VAG COM or dealer diagnostic equipment.

hmmm that sounds familier eh Ross!!!

Well, mine's working spot on now! Fed up of cold air, and nothing but cold air. Just need to reassemble the totally disassembled centre console - as todays job but it took me all morning to recover from the night before ;):drunk: and then played a full golf course for 3 hours. :o

I'm too knackered to rebuild it now.

love to know the answer to this one as the wifes doing this and its due its last service inside the warrenty

Oh dear - sounds expensive! I had thought it might be something to do with a sensor since some times it works fine and then suddenly decides to produce maximum heat. When this happens turning the heater control back to cool fails to reduce the heat. thanks anyway.

Nice one I've has this problem on mine for ages and its starting to **** me and nicci off.

How do you go about resetting it with VagCom? If that doesn't work I'll mention the heater flap to the dealers.

I think you just need to go to adress 08 Auto HVAC then basic settings and access channel 001 followed by 002. IIRC that should cycle the motors.
