Seat belt alarm

Featured Replies

Have been told by skoda that my 2015 Fabia does not have a seat belt warning alarm on the passenger side seat is this right cheers david

My 2013 doesnt, so yours probably doesnt.

Does it matter?

Try it out for yourself (:

No it does not matter but I just thought it was a bit weird that's all cheers

I think the only way they could make that work, is if there was a set of scales in the seat it's self or some sort of pressure pad to let the system know that there is someone sitting in the seat! otherwise you'd have to drive round with the belt permanently buckled, even without a passenger, to stop the alarm 'binging' at you every 3 seconds! :)

More expense!!

I had seat belt alarm in my 2011 VRS on passenger side as well.

Did disable the alarm via VCDS though.

Maybe they just arent activated we standard then?

I dno. Doesnt make much difference does it (:

You can see a wire going into the driver's side seat belt 'socket' which will be for the switch to tell the system a seatbelt is attached.  You'll be able to see if there's a similar wire going to the passenger's seat. Mine doesn't.

mine went off the other week in my roomster ,missus told me if theres weight on passenger seat they recognise it , shopping bag was on it ,never noticed it before and ive had the car over a year

Yes, my Roomster had both but my Fabia only has one working on the driver's seat. Seems like an economy too far to me. My mother is 95 and forgets to do hers up and I used to rely on the Roomster reminding my to check. Today I found myself driving along and she hadn't done it up.
